Description
With so many choices buying a new set of tyres for the road can be extremely confusing, however after a year of testing that covered 10,000 Kilometres of riding we can honestly say that the Vitorria Open Corsa Evo CX tyre is one of if not the best Clincher tyre available
At the beginning of the year we installed a set of off-the-shelf Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX 290 TPI 700x23c Clincher tyres on the Mavic Askium wheels that come as standard on the Dolan Hercules SE and after 11 months and 10,000 Kilometres of riding we were amazed to find that we'd not encountered any punctures throughout the test
The only significant damage to the tyre occurred on the final ride when Glass on the road caused the following to happen to the Rear tyre
Even with this amount of Damage we still had no Punctures!
40kms from home you could almost guarantee that you'd get a puncture with a laceration that big, however we experienced yet another puncture free ride
For a road tyre to withstand so much damage and use without puncturing is simply amazing, but we decided to push the Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CXs even further. Obviously riding a tyre with such damage on the road would be dangerous so over the next week we submitted it to five sessions/fifty kilometres of riding on the Rollers and yes you guessed it no punctures!
At �35 per Tyre they're not exactly cheap but then you wouldn't expect a cheaper tyre to perform this way so for 11 months and 10,000 Kilometres of riding they're well worth the money
